Finally word has come down on when and where we’ll be able to experience My Name is Bruce, the long-awaited Bruce Campbell-helmed film in which Bruce Campbell plays Bruce Campbell, actor, sent to a town to defeat evil that’s much more real than the evil he’s used to dealing with.

We heard not too long ago that Sam Raimi would remake his classic Evil Dead just because it would look better now, but what about continuing on the existing franchise instead? Sam may not have that in mind, but does Bruce Campbell?

A lot of horror movies from the 1990s we'd like to push out of our memories, especially those that came directly after the Scream-effect. However, even during the gloomy part of the early '90s, there was a certain film about vampires fighting their desires in a remote town that sadly faded from the memories of many horror fans.

If you’ve been waiting as long as I have for word on My Name is Bruce, breathe yourself a sigh of relief; the wait is over. Finally Dark Horse Entertainment is getting the film ready to make its way to theaters this October, and a sequel is being worked on as you read this!

I’m not exaggerating when I say that Monster-Mania is one of the best run convention series in the world. I feel that since I cover around 8 conventions a year, I’m qualified to say this! At every show I like to talk to vendors and celebs alike to see who is doing well and what their experiences are like. It’s the suit in me.

As it stands, My Name is Bruce is still due out sometime this year. Bruce Campbell himself has said it numerous times, and I have no reason not to believe what the Great Chin decrees.

The jury is still out on when we'll see The Chin's latest project My Name is Bruce hitting theatres or stores (“Bruce Talks Home Invasion” – November 2007), but it is always a good sign when the PR starts rolling heavy down the road.

We last gave you word on My Name is Bruce a scant two weeks ago ("Bruce Talks Home Invasion" – November 2007) and now the claims of them “madly racing” to finish the film have been justified. Reader "chainsaw" dropped us a heads-up today that the trailer for My Name is Bruce found its way onto YouTube and you can check it out below! Hopefully some solid release news will follow shortly, stick around!

Bruce Campbell’s going to be on your TV screen again soon, playing a sidekick character in a new show called "Burn Notice"; hopefully this one will last longer than some of the shows the man actually starred in, too.
