Author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson has announced three new theatrical screenings for Slime City Massacre, his gooey celebration of 1980s cult films which stars Debbie Rochon and Brooke Lewis and features cameos by Roy Frumkes and Lloyd Kaufman, taking place in Tampa, FL; Las Vegas, NV; and his hometown of Buffalo, NY.

This writer is asking you, our tightly-knit horror community, as we approach October – our month of months – to unite for a good cause: to support local Los Angeles women battling breast cancer by contributing to the Bowling for Boobies campaign.

Later this summer Slime City Massacre will be released theatrically through indieFilmNet’s new "Cinema Meets Horror" midnight movie-flavored series. IFN will make the film available to as many as 60 digital theaters in North America, which can book it as a midnight show, single screening, or full-on engagement.

The last time we caught up with actress/producer Brooke Lewis, she was focusing on the feature film adaptation of her popular "Ms. Vampy" web series called Vamp it Out. Due to fan demand Lewis has decided to release a brand new web series in the meantime called "Ms. Vampy's Tween Tawk, Teen Tawk & In Between Tawk.”

With the May 10th release of Shriek Show’s two-disk DVD of Slime City Massacre just around the corner, author and filmmaker Greg Lamberson let us in on a slew of upcoming SCM events, including screenings in Buffalo and New York City and cast signings at NYC's Forbidden Planet and Burbank's Dark Delicacies. When I first met actress and producer Brooke Lewis in 2009, she struck me as someone who has an unmatched passion and enthusiasm for the horror genre. It was her passion for both acting and producing that made it easy for her to be embraced very quickly by the genre community, which has even dubbed her with the beloved title of “Scream Queen.”

We know there are so many web series out there, it's nearly impossible to separate the good from the bad, but for horror fans there are few better than "This Week in Horror" hosted by Matt Raub and Staci Layne Wilson. Recently Dread visited the Burbank, CA effects house Illusion Industries (formerly Drac Studios) for an extensive tour guided by company president and make-up artist Todd Tucker and while there got the lowdown on the future of the company as well as exclusive word on a handful of upcoming projects, including the Brooke Lewis-starring Vamp It Out and Tucker’s currently untitled Zack Ward v
