Now that holidays are over, it's time to start thinking about what we might get for some of our Dread Central staffers for Christmas 2012, and thanks to the McFarland publishing company, we have already crossed Foy off our list. Ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes on David Coleman's The Bigfoot Filmography: Fictional and Documentary Appearances in Film and Television.

It's not expected to be available until the second quarter of 2012, but if you're at all a fan of Bigfoot, you'll want to check out (and pre-order) Sideshow Collectibles' newest offering in their Sideshow Originals series, the Bigfoot statue. And it's not just his foot that's big -- he's a whopping 19" H x 9.5" W x 11" L.

Bigfoot is back in American World Pictures' latest frightfest, Boggy Creek, and we have scored several new stills for you, including the very first shots of the creature itself! Boggy Creek is directed by Brian T. Jaynes and stars Texas Battle, Stephanie Honore, Damon Lipari, Shavon Kirksey, and Melissa Carnell.

Oh, Bigfoot. You're such a tease. This one's for the Sasquatchploitation fans out there - Apparently yet another sighting of the crypto-based beast has been captured on film out in the woods of Spokane, Washington. According to the KXLY website a local woman out for a day hike along the Spokane River claims to have proof of the mysterious and elusive Bigfoot.

Earlier today Creepy revealed three new reality series that Syfy has planned, and now we have a look at nine films that will be heading our way as part of the network's Saturday Original Movies. Somewhere The Foywonder is sobbing uncontrollably but has no idea why.

Boggy Creek's writer/producer/director Brian T. Jaynes has released some photos of the Facades FX creature shop in action on the upcoming film - a whole gallery's worth in fact!

You would think Bigfoot battling a Chupacabra would be a bit of a mismatch given the incredible size difference between the two. Fred Olen Ray is nonetheless readying a David vs. Goliath clash between these two cryptid titans. Sasquatch vs. Chupacabra - place your bets!

And we go from the bounty of last week's home video releases to the near famine of March 30th, where the pick of the week is without question I Sell the Dead. Although, based on its cover alone, the DVD I'm most curious about is 1951's The Tiger's Claw (Der Tiger Akbar) from West Germany.

One remake we're particularly stoked for around here is Boggy Creek. Why? Because they just don't make enough good Bigfoot movies, and how could anyone resist a good old fashioned dosage of Sasquatchploitation?!?

Bob Gray's Bigfoot was actually one of the very first of the new wave of Sasquatchploitation flicks back when I got an advance look at the film in late 2005. Thanks to a snafu with another distribution company, Bigfoot is only now getting its long overdue DVD release nearly five years later and after a myriad of other killer Sasquatch flicks have come and gone.

Having followed the antics of the many incarnations of the blurry photographed cryptid most commonly known as Bigfoot throughout my life, I have heard of his Missouri counterpart, Momo. I had not heard that the Sasquatchian hominid known as "Momo" was said to have the head of a jack o'lantern. That I would have remembered. But now that I know, I have to wonder why it has taken so long to make a motion picture about pumpkin-headed Bigfoot.

Following up on the story we ran recently with an update on indie flick Boggy Creek, today we got ahold of four early stills from the production that indicate things are looking suitably swampy.

We've been following the progress of two new swamp monster movies in the works, and today we can bring you new news on both. More plot details have emerged on the Boggy Creek non-remake. The first image giving us a good look at swamp thing on the prowl in Brett Piper's Muckman is now available for gawking at. Put on your galoshes; things are about to get swampy.
