Our British brethren got some good news this week as BBC Three finally unveiled the release date for "Being Human" Series 3: Sunday 23rd January 2011. To celebrate, we have some new character photos along with a video of Sinead Keenan (Nina) providing a tour of "Honolulu Heights" - the quartet's new digs.

We won't be seeing it here in the States until sometime in the spring, but UK fans of BBC Three's "Being Human" will be treated to the third season of the show shortly. And to help build the anticipation, we have a look at the Series 3 trailer along with a behind-the-scenes making-of video.

As we told you last week, the Blu-ray of the BBC’s modern retelling of The Day of the Triffids is hitting the market on February 22nd. Even better? Two lucky UK readers will be able to get their hands on a free copy courtesy of Dread Central and our friends at Showbox Home Entertainment and The Associates.

Those with the home cinema hardware who haven’t yet obtained Showbox Home Entertainment’s DVD release of the BBC’s modern retelling of The Day of the Triffids (released on February 1st) may want to hold off slightly longer for some hi-def goodness as the Blu-ray lands in stores across the UK on February 22nd!

In anticipation of its February 1st UK DVD release date (with the Blu-ray following on February 22nd) from Showbox Home Entertainment, The Day of the Triffids has shared five clips from the mini-series on its MySpace Blog, and we, in turn, are sharing them with you guys.

For those of you out there who missed the first season of UK mini-series "Being Human" on BBC America, make it your business to watch it on demand if you can. The show was a powerhouse of good old fashioned horror that played like a completely supernatural version of "Three's Company" but with tons more bite. Like all good things from overseas ... an American version is now on the way.

A remake of Day of the Triffids is being prepped for production in the UK, and this morning Variety reports that a huge slew of stars have signed on for the project including Brian Cox, Eddie Izzard, Jason Priestly, Dougray Scott and Vanessa Redgrave.

You may recall a while back we gave you a heads up about a new show being produced for the BBC called “Being Human”; the story of a vampire, werewolf and ghost co-habitating in an apartment in London. While the premise sounds ripe for wacky hijinks, the actual execution was smart, funny and engaging.
