PETA Offers Assistance to the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum

As we told you a few days ago, the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum in Baltimore is in danger of being shut down due to budget cuts by the city's Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation. Stepping in to offer assistance is animal rights group PETA.

Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum in Danger

When people think of the founders of modern-day horror, only a handful of names comes to mind. For most of us at the top of the list is Edgar Allan Poe, the deranged genius who gave us "The Black Cat" and "The Tell-Tale Heart" among many others. While he lived in several places in the New England area, the city of Baltimore, Maryland, embraced the dark poet more than any other.

Baltimore Gives Edgar Allan Poe a True Sendoff!

In what has to be one of the greatest genre stories in recent years, the horror genre’s most prolific writer, Edgar Allan Poe, will be given a royal ceremony beginning on October 7th with a public viewing of his body at the Poe house and continuing all the way to October 11th with a funeral procession and service.

    Goyer Talks Baltimore Project

During Comic Con, David Goyer got to chatting with a lot of people about the various projects he’s involved in, talking up his next directorial effort The Unborn more than anything else.

    Goyer Finds Possession Story

David Goyer has way too much going on at any given time to be able to focus too much on one particular project. One of his most recent announcements that intrigued me was the adaptation of Baltimore (review), but it’s only one movie among many the writer/director is working on.

    Goyer to Helm Baltimore

Here’s a project we’ve been hearing rumblings about but had to keep quiet on until the I’s were dotted and the T’s crossed, and I’m very happy it happened sooner rather than later.

    Golden Hits Beantown

With college back in full swing (believe me, I can’t go anywhere without remembering), it’s time for authors to crawl out of their caves and come on out to see he unwashed masses yet again.

    Golden, Christopher (The Myth Hunters)

I first read prolific author Christopher Golden on the suggestion of my wife who loaned me his first novel, Of Saints and Shadows, back when we were dating. I became hooked pre
