Anne Rice
It must be a wonderful time to be Anne Rice. Not only is her return to supernatural fiction, The Wolf Gift, just a few days away from publication (look for it 2/14/12), but today comes news that The Tale of the Body Thief, Book IV of The Vampire Chronicles, is heading to the big screen!
Anne Rice has posted a new video on her YouTube page discussing her upcoming book The Wolf Gift, and one thing that caught our attention is that her protagonist's transformation isn't a painful ordeal, but rather a sensuous experience in which he enjoys his increased strength and heightened senses. And that's just the beginning of the new werewolf mythos she's created. Check it out for a lot more details, but first here's a list of cities added to her promo tour in support of the novel.
We're just about a month away from the release of Anne Rice's upcoming return to the supernatural genre, The Wolf Gift, and while we await word of just how extensive a book tour the beloved author might embark upon in support of it, we do know of one location where she'll be making an appearance and signing: Books Inc. in San Francisco's Opera Plaza.
Just about a week ago we got our first look at the cover art for author Anne Rice's upcoming return to the supernatural genre, The Wolf Gift, and now her publisher has provided the book's full synopsis, which we must say just has us even more anxious for February of next year!
When it comes to modern horror literature, there's been a big hole in recent years since Anne Rice opted to leave the genre; however, that's all about to change with the publication of The Wolf Gift this coming February 14th, 2012. Anne is back, and we couldn't be happier! Take a peek at the book's cover art, pre-order your copy from Amazon, and listen to Anne herself speak to the fans about her new novel.
Ever since learning that Anne Rice has a new book in the works about werewolves entitled The Wolf Gift at this past summer's San Diego Comic-Con, we've been wondering when we'll be able to get our hands on it. Well, the answer has come from the author herself!
Tomorrow, August 24th, Issue #1 of IDW's six-part comic adaptation of Anne Rice's Servant of the Bones hits store shelves, and we have a look at the covers for the first three issues along with a peek at an excerpt from the miniseries' debut.
Back in June 2010 there were rumblings of a TV adaptation of Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches books possibly being on its way, but nothing came of them. Now, however, things are starting to look up for fans of the series that began in 1990 with The Witching Hour and continued with Lasher and Taltos.
Yep, another story from the recently completed San Diego Comic-Con. Not sure how this one slipped under our radar, but fan favorite author Anne Rice told MTV Geek during the event that she's working on a new project: a werewolf-themed book entitled The Wolf Gift.
For some time now Anne Rice has been teasing on her Facebook page that a big announcement was imminent, and today it finally came: Her Interview with the Vampire is being adapted into a graphic novel with the same plot but a new point of view. Read on for the details.
For those who may be unaware, Anne Rice has written a lot more books than just her Vampire Chronicles, and one of the best of them is Servant of the Bones, the story of Azriel of Babylon. In partnership with IDW Publishing, Anne's historical horror novel is about to become a six-issue comic adaptation.
I, like many fans out there, was surprised by how good the big screen adaptation of Interview with the Vampire was. Sure, they took a few liberties with the characters, but overall it was a really well acted good time. Queen of the Damned? Not so much.
So, it's been about a year since anyone last spoke about a possible reboot of Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles. Of course that means it's time for the subject to rear its head again. Only now it's Anne herself doing the talking so odds are it'll really happen ... eventually.
Ever since I first read Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, I swore one of these days I'd make it to her annual Vampire Lestat Vampire Club Halloween Ball. Unfortunately, this isn't my year, but if you live anywhere near New Orleans, you might want to make it yours as the group is presenting a "Tru Blood & Gold Ball" for 2009.
Since she's never been one to shy away from interacting with and directly communicating with her fans, it was only a matter of time before Anne Rice addressed the rumors swirling around a
new adaptation of her Vampire Chronicles and particularly the potential casting of Robert Downey, Jr., as Lestat.
