2009 is starting to wind down so of course that means it's time for all the various awards shows to begin rearing their heads. First up -- The People's Choice Awards, which (even discounting the predictable numerous mentions of Twilight) have a pretty healthy array of genre nominees.
Last night the Paley Center hosted a panel entitled "Inside the Writers Room: True Blood", and representing the HBO series were creator/executive producer Alan Ball along with writer's assistant Elisabeth Finch, script coordinator Kate Barnow, co-executive producer Brian Buckner, co-executive producer Nancy Oliver, supervising producer Alexander Woo, and producer Raelle Tucker. Read on for a few choice tidbits of what was said and some hints of what fans can expect during Season 3.
The Dread Central crew were in attendance at this past weekend's Spike TV Scream Awards reporting on the events as they happened, and to get you geared up for watching the show yourself, Spike has released a few highlights!
Dread Central (in this case Heather Wixson, myself, and a moonlighting Brian Smith) hit the red carpet this past Saturday for the taping of the fourth annual Spike Scream Awards, held at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, and brought back a slew of photos and video interviews from the press line, as well as from the event itself and subsequent after-party (which was held at the Forever Hollywood Cemetery in, well, Hollywood).
“Resistance is futile” -- The fourth annual Scream Awards, the first and only global event of its kind to honor the best in sci-fi, fantasy, horror and comic genres are happening RIGHT NOW, at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, and we're bringing you the results as they happen. The two-hour extravaganza will premiere on Spike TV on Tuesday, October 27 (10:00 PM-Midnight, ET/PT).
Fans of HBO's "True Blood" are as rabid as they are because -- pardon the pun -- the show offers so very much to sink the old teeth into. Especially the relationship between Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Sookie (Anna Paquin), who incidentally are engaged to be married in real life. As if the couple can't get enough of each other already, it appears that they plan to share the screen once again in an upcoming thriller called Open House.
The finale of Season 2 of "True Blood" may have only aired last night, but don't think for a second that the creative minds behind the show are taking any sort of break. Creator Alan Ball recently revealed a few choice tidbits of what we can expect in Season 3 including some tasty casting news.
All right, Fangbangers. We're just a few short days away from the season finale of "True Blood", and while we wait for our usual pre-show tease from the powers-that-be at HBO, this week we have something a little different. Something that promises to "corrupt" all of you -- and leave you in need of a cold shower!
Usually at about this time of the day on Friday, we're putting up a sneak peek or two of the weekend's upcoming "True Blood" episode. But alas, the show is taking this Sunday off due to the Labor Day holiday before returning on September 13th with the season finale. But that doesn't mean you can't still have your fix of Sookie, Bill, Eric, and the rest of the gang. Read on for more.
The October 6th DVD/Blu-ray release day of Mike Dougherty's Trick 'r Treat just cannot get here soon enough. The Dread Central offices are abuzz with anticipation, not just because finally everyone will have a chance to dig on what is without question the best anthology since Creepshow, but also we'll finally get to see it again!
If there's a finer way to cap off the week than by watching "True Blood" sneak peeks provided by HBO, I've yet to find it. And with only two more episodes left, we better dig in while we can!
Say it isn't so -- There are only three more episodes of "True Blood" left. This week's installment, entitled New World in My View, looks to amp things up a notch in anticipation of the season's conclusion on September 13th. And to get you amped up for it, HBO has provided a sneak peek.
A couple of months ago we posted an excerpt from an interview with "True Blood"'s Evan Rachel Wood in which she mentioned that her character, Sophie-Anne, would be interacting with "Hadley", Sookie (Anna Paquin)'s cousin who had yet to be cast. Today we found out who would be playing said Hadley.
Can't get enough of "True Blood"? Neither can we, which is why our ears perked up when we heard there were two clips from this Sunday's episode available on the HBO series' video page.
HBO's "True Blood" has become a phenomenon. From their extremely clever viral marketing to their frequent posts on Twitter @TrueBloodHBO, people just can't get enough! To add to the mayhem, Dread Central is happy to bring you a clip from this Sunday's episode!
