Only a few short months ago during Montreal's Fantasia festival we reported that Andrew van den Houten, producer of The Girl Next Door, was set to begin shooting his adaptation of Jack Ketchum's cannibal killer sequel Offspring. Today we received word from van den Houten that the official trailer is live (see it below), and all the Offspring webisodes can be viewed at Modern Cine's YouTube channel.

Andrew van den Houten’s Offspring is pretty close to the top of my list for most anticipated adaptations of 2009. The Jack Ketchum book on which it’s based is one of my favorites, and this story has been a long time coming to the big screen!
It seems to me that the guys over at ModernCine really know when they’re doing when it comes to getting films done. Their production on The Girl Next Door was very quick, as was the cinema vérité Home Movie. Just a few months ago we got the first word on their adaptation of Jack Ketchum’s Offspring; now the film is done and ready for its first screenings!
We just got a heads up from the guys at ModernCine with the good news that their next Jack Ketchum adaptation, Offspring, will be shown off at this month’s American Film Market. The film's not going to be done until December, but they're making sure distributors are aware of it with the sales art you see on your right.
