ShoulderHill Options Andrew Klavan’s Bury the Dead

And another new film project out of the UK came to our attention today: best-selling author and screenwriter Andrew Klavan’s Bury the Dead, which has been optioned by ShoulderHill Films, a subsidiary of ShoulderHill Entertainment.
Per ShoulderHill’s website the supernatural thriller/horror film tells the story of a young couple who wander into a strange village where they witness a bizarre ritual killing and realize they may be next in line.
The film is scheduled to begin production in late 2010 with ShoulderHill’s co-founder, Steven Addair, attached to direct. “Andrew is a fantastic writer who creates such an evocative mood. Bury the Dead is a story of sin and retribution. I believe it’s a chilling tale that will resonate with people,” said Addair.
Klavan’s name should be familiar to horror fans as his previous screenplays include One Missed Call, starring Ed Burns and Shannyn Sossamon.
