American Cinematheque

Famous Monsters of Filmland is thrilled to be able to share a two-day double feature event at the end of May with the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles, California. Saturday, May 30th, will be adorned with a double bill of Son of Frankenstein (1939) followed by Ghost of Frankenstein (1942). Sunday goes for the famous leading vampire with the classic Dracula (1931) as well as House of Dracula (1945).

Are you a fan of the classic A Nightmare on Elm Street and also enjoy DVD commentaries? If so, this is a live event you likely won't want to miss. Wes Craven is planning on attending a screening of his infamous 1984 film and will be doing a live commentary there with fans in the theater!

Got a thick wallet? Profiles in History has released initial estimated values for several of the items to be auctioned away from the late Forrest J Ackerman’s renowned collection. These are some of the first items to be confirmed to be available for sale at the Profile in History’s 36th auction of Hollywood memorabilia.

Profiles in History and American Cinematheque are offering a public sneak peek of some treasures of the late and great Forrest J. Ackerman. Several significant items will be out on display between 3:00 and 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 8 of 2009, as Profiles in History joins the American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles in a tribute to our greatly missed Forry.
