Well here's something that definitely falls on the interesting side of the fence. While doing press for The Bourne Legacy, producer Frank Marshall let the cat out of the bag as to when we'll be returning to Jurassic Park!
Finally some solid news has come out for Universal's next entry in the Jurassic Park franchise, known tentatively as Jurassic Park 4. The studio has picked its writers, and given their past track record, we wholeheartedly approve.
Andy Serkis is single-handedly creating a new art form. The man who portrayed Gollum in the Lord of the Rings films, Kong in King Kong ('05) and most recently Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes (Blu-ray/DVD review here) has brought CGI performance to a new level.
With the success of Rise of the Planet of the Apes (Blu-ray / DVD review here), talk of a sequel began almost instantly. By the time the film ended, we had learned how the human race would fade away, leaving the door open for this new rule, and from the sound of things the sequel will pick up right there.
It seems 20th Century Fox's Planet of the Apes prequel is coming closer to fruition as Rupert Wyatt's name has been reported as the project's director. Based on his last project, The Escapist, which won the British Independent Film Award for Best Achievement in Production, he looks to be a pretty good choice.
