Considering how many people are obsessed with their smartphones and gadgets these days, it’s surprising that these individuals haven’t found themselves the target of a sadistic killer in a bloody horror movie. If you’d love nothing more than to see tech obsessives eviscerated for your endless amusement, prepare yourself for DistractDead. We apologize in advance to smartphone addicts.

The premise is pretty straightforward: People who spend more time staring at their devices instead of participating in real life are targeted by someone who is more than willing to end their lives. In fact, the official website has a manifesto written by the flick’s agenda-driver killer.

Is your life in danger? Check it out:

With the birth of the internet came the promise of a united humanity, a world that after millennia of strife could finally stand as one.

But as time passes, it is clear that the false lure of “connectivity” drives a wedge between us. Now they pass one another in real life and don’t even see their humanity anymore. All they see is the glowing screen in our hands – a filter for life, a false protection from actually feeling anything anymore.

This addiction has grown to epidemic proportions, and it threatens our safety as a society. Distracted driving kills. Distracted walking creates legions of victims – a society of the weak.

THE DISTRACTDEAD AS THEY WILL BE KNOWN.

For now it is time to remind them that their senses evolved for a purpose: self-preservation. And though they have long forgotten what it is like to observe the world around them, they will rediscover one emotion clearer than ever before: fear.

Hide your phones, addicts: DistractDead is on its way. Have a look at the trailer below. As always, check out the flick on Facebook, but try not to get too distracted in the process.
