Comedian and actor Adam Sandler is making a foray into our beloved genre for the very first time. (No, Little Nicky and Hotel Transylvania don’t count as horror movies!). Uncut Gems is a gritty crime thriller coming our way via A24 (the studio behind The Witch, Midsommar, and Hereditary). Give the trailer for Uncut Gems a spin at the top of the article and look for the film in theaters beginning this December.
Synopsis:
From acclaimed filmmakers Josh and Benny Safdie comes an electrifying crime thriller about Howard Ratner (Adam Sandler), a charismatic New York City jeweler always on the lookout for the next big score. When he makes a series of high-stakes bets that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime, Howard must perform a precarious high-wire act, balancing business, family, and encroaching adversaries on all sides, in his relentless pursuit of the ultimate win.
In addition to Sandler, the film stars Lakeith Stanfield, Julia Fox, Kevin Garnett, Idina Menzel, Eric Bogosian, and Judd Hirsch.
