The elaborate set pieces from the original Escape Room are even crazier in Escape Room: Tournament of Champions. Part of the charm of this burgeoning franchise is its reliance on the actual escape, not the graphic violence found in other similar R-rated fare. Director Adam Robitel is back in the director’s chair for the sequel but, in our video interview below, he did admit that he’s looking forward to getting back to more adult level intensity. With Robitel’s next film, he’s returning to the Insidious universe, so if there is an Escape Room 3, he very likely won’t be at the helm. The next one won’t be bloodier but it will have some new blood.
