"When a guy like me is your only hope you’ve got a biiiiig problem ... and no one on God’s green earth is going to like the way I solve it." - Ethan Thomas
You thought we were done adding guests, didn’t you? You thought, just because we’re less than two months from the 2nd annual Fear Fest, there was just no more room for talent, didn’t you?
Over the weekend I got the chance to talk to A.J. Bowen (pictured), one of the stars of The Signal (review), which is out in theaters on February 22nd, 2008 (full theater listing is here).
An interesting lineup comes our way this Tuesday, January 15th, 2008. Is any of it worth picking up? Read on to find out!
I never once thought the theatrical future of Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans was in question, but I guess it was by some parties. If you're among those parties, allow me to calm your troubled minds; the prequel will, indeed, be in theaters. I know this because Lakeshore Entertainment pres Tom Rosenberg told me.
It’s being reported this morning via Upcoming Film Scores that a slew of new sci-fi/horror movies are finally settling on composers, and since this is the first time I’ve heard mention of the upcoming Tale of Two Sisters remake (pictured) in quite a while, it’s worth a mention as it’s a very good sign that the film is nearly done. How good it will be still remains to be seen.
Ron Perlman has certainly embraced his role as the once and future Hellboy, lending his vocal talents to two animated films about Big Red as well as the upcoming video game Hellboy: The Science of Evil, which has been in development for seemingly ever now.
In case you hadn't been aware, the Michell Lichtenstein coming-of-age horror film Teeth (review) opens in theaters this Friday, right up against a little monster movie you might have heard of called Cloverfield. The Teeth release is much smaller, so I’m sure it’ll find its audience. Besides, it’s about a girl with teeth in her vagina; what’s not to love?
We first told you about author, screenwriter, and artist Stephen Romano's latest project Shock Festival ( "Welcome to the Shock Festival!" - January 2008) just a few days ago, and now we have some exclusive posters to show you that you won't see anywhere else!
With all the new toys coming out celebrating Alien Vs. Predator and its sequel, I’m sure glad NECA had the presence of mind to go back to the classic original Alien film for their next collectible.
As Darren Lynn Bousman finalizes the editing on Repo! The Genetic Oprea, it sounds like he’s starting to really wonder just how the general populace will react to it. It’s an all-singing horror movie, for God’s sake, I guess you can’t blame him.
A zombie with an identity crisis. That’s how the titular lead of Otto: or Up with Dead People is described in the film’s official synopsis. First time I’ve heard that one!
Are you as sick and tired of reality shows and reruns as I am? Well, relief is in sight -- at least for one night. On Monday, January 14, at 8:00 pm ET (with an encore at midnight), Turner Classic Movies will be airing Val Lewton: The Man in the Shadows, a new documentary produced and narrated by Martin Scorsese.
A true genre legend has passed on. Maila Nurmi, known to fans as Vampira, passed away in her sleep at the age of 86 due to natural causes. Born Maila Elizabeth Syrjäniemi on December 21, 1921, Nurmi will always be remembered for her classic Gothic look that inspired many of our favorite horror icons including the world famous Elvira. Nobody did it better. Nobody ever will.
Seems like it’s been a long time since we got an update on Lamberto Bava’s return to horror, Ghost Son, but thankfully we can report on it again with good news.
