First Look at Alone in the Dark II

The first image from Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer’s Alone in the Dark II found its way into the clawed hands of the Fangoria fiends today, a sample of which you can see on your right.

Aliens Game This Year

A while back Sega announced two Aliens titles. One, a first person shooter based around the Colonial Marines from Gearbox Software, was slated for 2009. I remember doing a triple take over that when reading the press release, as it seemed ridiculously early to announce a game for 2009 so many years in advance.

The Signal Interview Clips!

And just in case you haven’t had enough of us bashing you over the head with Signal stuff, Magnolia just put up a new interview clip from the film on YouTube! Check it out below, then click here for the full theater listing for tomorrow’s release of The Signal!

The Signal in Theaters Tomorrow!

All right, seriously, no more screwing around. The Signal (review) opens in theaters tomorrow, February 22nd, and we just learned that Magnolia Pictures has added an assload of theaters to the original, somewhat paltry list.

King Collected in Just Past Sunset

In case you missed the big news yesterday, or whenever it was officially announced, Stephen King will releasing a new collection of his short stories this November called Just Past Sunset. The collection will feature about 13 of King’s previously unpublished scary tales, including “The Gingerbread Girl”, “Graduation Afternoon”, “The New York Times at Special Bargain Rates” and more.

Bog Bodies Trailer

The trailer for the Irish horror movie Bog Bodies, which stars Vinnie Jones, The Descent’s Nora Jane-Noone and Jason Barry, found its way online today via UHM, and I have to admit it looks a helluva lot better than I expected when Foy did the first story on it over a year ago (“Death by Bog Body” – January 2007)

UPDATE! First Ruins Poster

It’s small, but effective. How many times have you had to explain that in your life? Personally I never have (ahem), but this time I will because I’m talking about the poster for Carter Smith’s The Ruins.

How to Home Invade the Funny Games Way

Michael Haneke’s remake of his own 1997 thriller Funny Games will be getting a limited release on March 14th, so expect to see more promo pieces like this between now and then. The story follows a couple (Naomi Watts & Tim Roth) trying to have a peaceful weekend when two charming psychos show up and make their lives hell.

Toy Fair 08: New Look at Cloverfield Monster

Much like the movie, the figure based on the monster seen in Cloverfield (review) was met with mixed opinions (“Hasbro's Cloverfield Monster Figure Revealed” – February 2008). The toy just didn't quite look like what we saw in the film.

Toy Fair 08: Judge Dredd vs. Death vs. Aliens

If there's one thing we need more of today, it's Judge Dredd. The movie blew, the games blew, but the comic book has been kicking major ass for decades. Personally, Dredd is one of the very few comic book characters I can tolerate making really strange cross-overs.

Toy Fair 08: Master Replicas' Igor & Halo

Last month we pointed you in the direction of the UK Toy Fair, where merchandise from the new CGI movie Igor was being shown off (“Igor and His Toys” – January 2008). Obviously the hunchbacked little scamp didn't stay overseas because he just showed up in New York!

Spooks Sells Quick!

Ryan Schifrin's comic book Spooks is now officially a hit! We got word today that the first issue of the mini-series has sold out within just one week of being out from Diamond! But wait, there's more!

Fincher to Create Black Hole

Teen horror dramas rarely turn out good. Teeth (review) is one of those few occasions where the whole WB/CW audience was ignored and someone made just a badass movie. It looks like Paramount Pictures may have taken a page out of the same book.

Repo! Moves Forward a Bit

The good news? There's some new art for Repo! The bad news? The project is just now reaching the DI color grading stage.

Toy Fair 08: Hellboy & His Gun

We learned through Action Figure today that Sideshow Collectibles is planning on releasing Hellboy's trusty side arm, The Samaritan, again.
