Andrew Kasch just checked in with a Dark City: Director's Cut update and news about future projects from Alex Proyas.
Diet Cokeheads and Swatch Watchdogs, oh how I miss them so much. Uncle Creepy could sense that and decided to call in with this kickass exclusive straight from San Diego Comic-Con.
I haven't heard of Zombies Zombies Zombies, but I am going to take a guess and say it's about strippers.
Messiahman chimed in with a bit of news today for those in Hollywood and the surrounding areas. Jon Knautz's monster flick Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, is going to have a special showing at midnight on August 12th at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery!
In the midst of all the Comic-Con madness, this bit of news managed to catch our eyes while wading through the crowds. The official site of Universal's The Wolfman launched today and provided us with a more detailed synopsis than what we've seen floating around before (see image below).
Our man Nomad and crew have been providing pictures and scoops from Comic-Con fast as lightning, but I thought you might also like to hear about some of the goings-on at this year’s event. Last night was what they call “Preview Night,” and if it’s any indication of what the next few days are going to be like, I suggest everyone who’s attending wear comfortable shoes and get ready for a lot of standing in line.
Spawn. Lots and lots and lots of Spawn. I’m going to be honest, I didn’t realize this character was still so popular with the masses, but judging by McFarlane’s upcoming selection of Spawn figures, he’s more popular than ever. Feast your eyes below!
If you’re one of the few who have yet to see Cloverfield and managed to avoid all the images of the monster once the film was released, congratulations. I have no idea how one would do that. If you’ve read this far, chances are you’re neither, so just move your eyeballs down a bit to check out some new pics of the monster fresh from the floor of Comic Con!
Barbie Vs. The Birds? Why the hell not? I mean, Hitchcock was huge on having important female characters in most of his suspense films; maybe this is just the beginning of a new line from Mattel. A man can dream, can’t he?
This just in from our man Andrew Kasch at the San Diego Comic-Con, who got the scoop on something many of us have been looking forward to for a while now. After the depression known as both AVP flicks, Dark Horse Comics is bringing hope back to us nerds everywhere by relaunching the comic book franchise that we've been gushing over for the past 10 years!
Remember SOTA? Those guys that made some really cool toys a while back and then just sort of disappeared? Well, looks like they’re ready to come back and they’re bringing a new Old One with them. Dig the photographic evidence below!
Nomad managed to get some snaps of non-toy related things, as well, when he came across a booth for the upcoming Fearnet exclusive 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust, a new short starring Shawnee Smith (interview). Check out your first look at the short below!
Oh, man, another short film competition. Though this one is definitely cooler than most as Unviersal is putting it on to coincide with this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Uni have announced a new short film competition called “Where Nightmares Come Alive”, inviting perspective filmmakers to submit their shorts ranging in runtime from 90 seconds to three minutes. Certainly not a lot of time to get your story told, is it?
Mezco Toys sure didn't hold back at this year's San Diego Comic-Con! The company's Cinema of Fear line just grew with the inclusion of new figures of Freddy, Jason, Leatherface and more! Did I mention that one of Mezco's new 12" figures is based on the Platinum Dunes remake of Friday the 13th?! The Mezco booth also showed off the second series of figures from the Hellboy II: The Golden Army line.
Continuing to show off all NECA has to offer at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, Nomad ran across their display of puppets from the upcoming stop-motion animated film Coraline, based on the book by Neil Gaiman. These aren't the figures NECA will make, but the actual puppets used in the actual film. Very cool! Apparently he went a little insane with the images this time, so there’s a lot to sift through. Enjoy!
