And expectations are rising for fans! DC learned today via press release that Sid has joined the likes of Maria Conchita Alonso (The Running Man, "Saints and Sinners"), Chris Mulkey (The Hidden, Cloverfield), and Billy Drago (The Untouchables, "Masters of Horror: Imprint") on Dana Mennie's upcoming horror opus Dark Moon Rising.
All right, so we know Fear Itself kicks off on June 5th with Stuart Gordon’s “’Eater” (pictured), but after that the anthology’s schedule has been up in the air. No more!
This past week a box arrived at our door from a company called Gorify. The company has a line of affordable horror-geared makeup products, and we jumped all over the opportunity to turn someone into a member of the walking dead.
On December 12th, Twilight may split vampire fans down the middle. I've heard conflicting opinions about the book the film is based on, but I was not expecting to see a bloodsucker flick where they're walking around in daylight!
All right, it took longer than any of us would’ve liked, thanks in no small part to various sicknesses, Tribeca and other conspiring factors, but I’m proud to announce that our massive toy gallery from New York Comic Con is now online!
Universal has finally set a date for the DVD release of Neil Marshall’s Doomsday (review), a movie that, at best, divided fans as to its validity since it was really one big homage. But damnit, it was done the right way if you ask me!
Toothy grizzlies are headed your way this Tuesday, May 6th, 2008. To best be prepared, make sure you fortify yourself with new horror DVD releases...
I didn’t even know the German film Antibodies (DVD review) was on the remake block, or if I did the knowledge was pushed out of my brain, likely being filled in by all the other remake news we do on a weekly basis.
Horror. That’s what it’s all about. So why the hell would the people behind the upcoming anthology series Fear Itself decide that the guy who remade The Fog deserves another shot at scaring us? In my opinion he should be relegated to romantic comedies and movies about kids dancing their way up from the slums for the rest of his career.
Proving that Beyond the Rave wasn’t just some one-off restart for Hammer Studios, the UK-based production house has officially announced acquisition of the remake rights for Let the Right One In, which just took top honors at the Tribeca Film Festival, according to this morning’s Variety.
I'm not sure why, but issues 10 & 11 of Horror Hound arrived within two days of each other ... Hence why we’re reviewing both at the same time.
I have to admit, as well-read as I am, I had no idea that there was an entire sauna culture in Finland. Apparently it is a no-zone between Christianity and Paganism, where sins can be easily washed away.
What would Ruggero Deodato (Cannibal Holocaust) be making if he were still making movies? Cannibals, of course. Thankfully, this is actually Deodato’s new movie and not someone trying to be him. Whether or not it will work is a different story, but I can’t deny I’m curious. B-D got the first look at the teaser art for Cannibals, the entirety of which you can see by clicking the teaser image below. We’ll give you more soon!
Though I guess it’s good to know things are moving along for the Creature From the Black Lagoon remake, which has been in various stages of pre-production for three years now, I can’t help but keep thinking about the Creature script I reviewed a while back and doing nothing but dreading it.
A good amount of horror fans out there have probably already guessed correctly about what M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening (official site) will be really about, but for the rest of the folks it is still a mystery.
