Yesterday we received word from director Brian Feeney about his debut directorial venture, a film called The Echo Game. Intrigued by the title, I looked into it and discovered what looks to be a pretty classy production with an interesting storyline. Really, what more can you ask for?
Obviously we missed the very short theatrical run of Larry Bishop's Hell Ride last month, which is too bad because I bet it looks great on the big screen...
I’m not sure if this poster is better or worse than the one that was put out to the public before Paintball even started rolling. I would have to say they’re at about the same level of bad, actually.
I’ve seen some weird shit in the few times I’ve been in Times Square, but man this takes the cake. As you can see from the image below, 20th Century Fox unleashed an army of Chuckys into the heart of Manhattan on Tuesday to promote the release of the Child’s Play: 20th Birthday Edition DVD (review). Instead they promoted normal, everyday citizens wetting themselves, cause these are just ... freaky.
Now this is the kind of news I like to end the week with! Variety reports this morning that Universal and Focus Features have jumped on board Old Boy director Chan-Wook Park’s Thirst, his vampire film that’s currently in production, putting in money and adding themselves as co-producers on the film.
Finally Lionsgate has put together and gotten around to approving an official trailer for Darren Bousman’s Repo! The Genetic Opera! I know you really want to check it out so I won’t bore you with jibba jabba.
One of literary horror's best friends, IDW Publishing, has sent out the word that on October 1st novelist Joe Hill's seminal Locke & Key: Welcome to Lovecraft is being released in hardback.
Now I don't know about you, but I'm pretty anxious to set Batman on fire as Scorpion. The chaos that's likely to ensue as the Mortal Kombat Universe collides with the DC Universe is likely to be one for the ages!
In advance of the premiere of Road to Hell at Fantastic Fest on September 22nd (which we first told you about here), the filmmakers have sent us an exclusive look at one of the film's gorier scenes.
Word just came down to us from a trusted source that the forthcoming DVD of Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, which hits October 7th, will be giving a little something extra to those of you who shop Best Buy...
It's been a week full of Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds news with no signs of slowing down! Director John Gulager dropped us a line today with the teaser trailer for the sequel. Check it out below, and don't forget to order your copy from EvilShop.
Director Brad Sykes dropped us a line this week with the good news that his latest film, the Steve Railsback-starrer Plaguers, was a rousing success during its premiere at Spain’s recent Estepona Fantasy & Horror Film Festival, taking home a Silver Unicorn Award for Best Screenplay.
How is it that we got a whopping one year out of the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards being a live event, but Spike TV’s Scream show keeps on trucking? I’m sure it comes down to a question of cash, but man it’d be nice to have a strictly horror-centric awards show again...
It’s nothing we’ve not heard before (most recently during Comic-Con); it’s just been a while since it was mentioned.
