If you’re one of the few who have yet to see Cloverfield and managed to avoid all the images of the monster once the film was released, congratulations. I have no idea how one would do that. If you’ve read this far, chances are you’re neither, so just move your eyeballs down a bit to check out some new pics of the monster fresh from the floor of Comic Con!
Barbie Vs. The Birds? Why the hell not? I mean, Hitchcock was huge on having important female characters in most of his suspense films; maybe this is just the beginning of a new line from Mattel. A man can dream, can’t he?
This just in from our man Andrew Kasch at the San Diego Comic-Con, who got the scoop on something many of us have been looking forward to for a while now. After the depression known as both AVP flicks, Dark Horse Comics is bringing hope back to us nerds everywhere by relaunching the comic book franchise that we've been gushing over for the past 10 years!
Remember SOTA? Those guys that made some really cool toys a while back and then just sort of disappeared? Well, looks like they’re ready to come back and they’re bringing a new Old One with them. Dig the photographic evidence below!
Nomad managed to get some snaps of non-toy related things, as well, when he came across a booth for the upcoming Fearnet exclusive 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust, a new short starring Shawnee Smith (interview). Check out your first look at the short below!
Oh, man, another short film competition. Though this one is definitely cooler than most as Unviersal is putting it on to coincide with this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Uni have announced a new short film competition called “Where Nightmares Come Alive”, inviting perspective filmmakers to submit their shorts ranging in runtime from 90 seconds to three minutes. Certainly not a lot of time to get your story told, is it?
Mezco Toys sure didn't hold back at this year's San Diego Comic-Con! The company's Cinema of Fear line just grew with the inclusion of new figures of Freddy, Jason, Leatherface and more! Did I mention that one of Mezco's new 12" figures is based on the Platinum Dunes remake of Friday the 13th?! The Mezco booth also showed off the second series of figures from the Hellboy II: The Golden Army line.
Continuing to show off all NECA has to offer at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, Nomad ran across their display of puppets from the upcoming stop-motion animated film Coraline, based on the book by Neil Gaiman. These aren't the figures NECA will make, but the actual puppets used in the actual film. Very cool! Apparently he went a little insane with the images this time, so there’s a lot to sift through. Enjoy!
The horror ... the ... horror ... NECA is bringing it with their latest lineup of incarnations of young, sweet Regan from The Exorcist and the one and only Ghost with the Most, Beetlejuice. Check out some new snaps of the figures courtesy of the mighty Nomad!
Continuing their trend of making badass videogame characters into badass toys, NECA showed off their new Gears of War figures at Comic Con, and Nomad snapped as many pics as he could so you can see just how cool they are.
Of course, NECA would get the license to make figures based on Rob Zombie’s upcoming animated film The Haunted World of El Superbeasto. They’ve done well with Zombie’s films in the past, so it only makes sense.
Tim Burton’s search for a girl to put through the looking glass has finally come to an end.
On display at this year’s Comic Con are a bunch of very cool costumes from the upcoming sequel Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Of course our man Nomad couldn’t stop taking pictures of what they had on hand, so check it out below!
See? All I have to do is ask and we get all sorts of cool stuff from the floor of Comic Con 2008! Check out some of the pics below, which feature new poster art for The Hills Run Red, Whiteout and Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, some weird random melty guy and two shots of a badass bust from Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds.
Well, they’re not exactly horror, but they are the first pics we’ve got from anyone at Comic Con, so we’ll run with it. Plus it is pretty cool on a purely geek level...
