I’ve never been to Philadelphia, despite the fact that I’ve been on the East Coast for almost a decade now, but if I were to make my first trip, this year’s Philadelphia International Film Festival would be a damn fine way to start.
Last month we gave you the full rundown of what to expect out of Anchor Bay's upcoming Dario Argento box set (“Classic Argento in Metal Boxes!” – February 2008), but we didn't know when it would be hitting store shelves.
Certain people who frequent this website refuse to let me live down giving The Gingerdead Man a rave review. Many love to hold that one over my head any chance they get. Heck, I've even joked about it myself. But you know what, I enjoyed the heck out of it. Sue me. I may have been in the minority, but god help me I thought it was a ton of stupid fun.
If you're like me, or several other people who saw Cloverfield (review), then you've probably got some questions about the film's monster. What is it? Is it a baby? Were the parasites offspring? What was with the tiny arms on its underbelly? Why did it change size?
Before we get started, let me just remind everyone to please, PLEASE go see Pathology during its limited release on April 18th (“Help Pathology Past 100 Theatres!” – February 2007). Thanks.
With the amazingly good Funny Games (review here) just around the corner, Warner Brothers set up a roundtable discussion with Naomi Watts, and we've got your seat at the table!
Dread Central got word the other day that production has just begun on Cyclops, a new Roger Corman-produced Sci-Fi Channel original movie from the writer-director of the upcoming Sci-Fi Channel originals' Rock Monster and Genesis Code, both of which I just wrote about last week.
Anyone who's a horror fan has undoubtedly heard of The H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival held in Portland, Oregon, which is now in its 13th year. Well, the promoter of that event has always wanted to show some other films that interested him ... namely, those involving zombies and vampires.
It's hard to believe that I was only in the third grade when Beetlejuice first creeped onto the silver screen to deliver gross gags and vulgar jokes. Ah, what a great thing to raise a kid on. Look at how far it has gotten me! Enough of that though...
As far as this Woman is concerned, there's no couple on TV with better chemistry than Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, who portray demon-hunting brothers Dean and Sam Winchester in The CW's "Supernatural."
Waiting is a pain in the ass, but worse than that is when you're waiting around and no news about something you're really looking forward to pops up. Good thing we've got social networking sites!
Remember Juan Piquer Simón's Pieces? It was that odd tale of a chainsaw/butcher knife killer who was using parts of his victims to create some sort of girl creature for reasons unknown.
If you're going to kidnap someones daughter, make sure you don't run into any backwood psychos along the way. That kind of error can really put a crimp in your day...
As reported by IGN, during a conference call with investors, Take-Two finally formally announced BioShock 2 to absolutely nobody's surprise. Still, it's only fitting that the pencilled in October 2009 release date should be so far off.
You’ve been waiting with baited breath for it (assuming you’re still breathing) and finally it is upon us; the first trailer for Lost Boys: The Tribe! MTV’s got it exclusively, so you better get clicking to check it out! No word on a release date yet, but we'll let you know when we do!
