Sony Home Entertainment has set a DVD date for Jeff (Midnight Meat Train) Buhler’s feature directing debut, Insanitarium: July 15th, 2008!
We received word this week from the producers of The Dark Lurking that principal photography has finally finished up on the movie and they’re on to the long, painstaking process of slicing it together.
It’s not a lot more information, but I have to admit I’m fascinated by the idea of a sequel for The Descent, especially when there’s absolutely no need to have one.
It only figures that the Insane Clown Posse would find themselves in an asylum sooner or later. They are insane, aren't they? But this asylum is The Asylum, those masters of the motion picture mockbuster like Alien vs. Hunter and Snakes on a Train. Just this week they released Allan Quatermain and the Temple of Skulls; bet you can't guess what that's a mockbuster of.
Another Tribeca has come and gone, and with it another great selection of horror movies (hit the “Tribeca 2008” link to read about ‘em). I expected at least one or two would take home some awards, but to learn that a horror movie got Tribeca’s feature prize in the festival? That’s just awesome.
As we mentioned earlier today, G4 has another exclusive for the horror genre. This time it is a follow-up to their set visit of the upcoming vampire novel turned big screen feature Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwicke.
Daniel Benmayor has been picked up to direct the Filmax International horror flick Paintball. I was not exactly sure if it was possible for one to make a scary movie out of the sport, but check out the synopsis to see how...
We've seen horror come in many forms over the years. The living dead, psychopathic killers, nature-run-amok, etc., but now Ghost House Underground is set to unleash a new type of terror on June 26th with its latest DVD feature, The Tattooist.

If there's any director working today who should know what Heaven is all about, it's Peter Jackson, right? Well, according to Flicks.co.nz, that point is definitely debatable.
Just last week we gave you the first word on the directorial return of Lightning Bug (review) helmer and Almost Human effects head Robert Hall, the slasher movie Laid to Rest. The film came out of nowhere, it seemed.
We'll make this short and simple: G4 got the exclusive trailer for NBC's horror anthology Fear Itself, which will start airing next month on June 5th. Click here for the episode guide, and look below for the trailer. G4 may have more exclusive goods on the way later today, so check back soon!
Been a while since we heard anything from the world of Gallowwalker, the Wesley Snipes zombie cowboy movie. It’s all right, though; absence makes the heart grow fonder, especially when the heart is anticipating a badass zombie movie with western aesthetics, something no one’s been able to pull off quite right yet.
Even though I’d like to tell myself that the upcoming Mummy sequel directed by Rob Cohen isn’t something that really fits well with Dread Central, we all know that’s not the case. Even if it is just an action-adventure film with CG monsters, we’re all still going to see it opening weekend, aren’t we? Yes, yes we are.
Another poster for Gregg Bishop’s upcoming teens vs. the undead flick, Dance of the Dead, showed up on IMP Awards today; and while it’s not as amusing as the last one, it certainly does heap on the praise!
