In Memoriam

At this time we here at Dread Central would like to take a moment to reflect on and honor the memories of our friends and family who were lost to us several years ago. "And wherever you've gone, and wherever we might go It don't seem fair, today just disappeared Your light's reflected now Reflected from afar We were but stones, your light made us stars" -- Eddie Vedder, "Light Years" God bless. - The Dread Central Family

Two-Week Break for Dollhouse

We told you a few weeks ago about Joss Whedon's plan to film a new pilot for his upcoming TV show "Dollhouse" and then air the old one as the second episode, which seemed a bit strange in and of itself.

Green and Lynch's Road to FrightFest

Anyone who has seen Wrong Turn 2 or Hatchet is very familiar with the names Joe Lynch and Adam Green. Part of what makes these two young filmmakers so credible within the horror genre is that first and foremost they are fans. They live it. They breathe it. They're two of our own. Matt Lucas is Burton's Tweedledum!

I may not be the biggest fan of Tim Burton, but the thought of his style used to populate Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland does tickle my interest. Regardless of my opinion of the filmmaker, the news that came down today about Alice in Wonderland's recent cast made this a must see.

Step Up 2 Sorority Row

I must confess that I've never seen the original 1983 House on Sorority Row so I cannot fully feign contempt for the remake soon going into production other than my usual ongoing annoyance with Hollywood's war on originality. Things are shaping up for the remake with the announcement that Step Up 2 The Streets hotty Briana Evigan has signed on to play the lead.

Tony Todd Talks Candyman Rumors

There have been rumors about a new Candyman movie, be it remake or sequel, since the last film crawled its way to home video almost 10 years ago. Most recently a remake has been the talk of the town, with one theory being that Sony wanted to make Candyman a white boy, as insane and missing-the-point as that idea would be.

Snow Set for Clock Tower

After numerous delays, directorial changes, and times when it seemed like it’d be better to just not make the movie at all, Clock Tower is finally getting ready to go in front of cameras this November in Los Angeles. Variety reports that it has even found itself a lead: Brittany Snow.
