Flying out to Canada at a moment’s notice is not something I’m accustomed to, still being fairly green to the whole movie industry press gig. When the films to be talked about are Saw IV (review) and Repo! The Genetic Opera, I throw my gear in a bag and take off without further prompting.
Two new posters for films that are part of this year’s After Dark Horrorfest have surfaced today, as well as a new, increidbly sexy banner!
Have you ever lost your lady or fella? Ever tracked them down to a rave in the middle of nowhere that’s full of vampires? Let me tell you, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be, fiends. Check out the first footage from Beyond the Rave, the first Hammer film to be produced in over 20 years which, coincidentally, deals with the very same subject, below. Keep it here for more soon!
It’s been a long time since we had a new Dreadtime Story to offer you guys so my thinking was, because of that and the proximity to Halloween, why not give you three new ones?

Oh I sure do love this... We’ve not seen anything cool from the 1986 remake of The Fly since McFarlane released its 7" figure almost a decade ago, but Sideshow Collectibles is getting ready to change that.
It’s been a while since we told you about Ryan (Live Feed) Nicholson’s latest splatter epic, Gutterballs ("Gutterballs Site Live!" – August 2007), but you’ll be happy to know that the wait was worth it. The first teaser trailer for Gutterballs showed up on the film’s MySpace page recently, which you can see below!
The brothers behind The Poughkeepsie Tapes are prepping their remake of Spanish horror film REC, now called Quarantine here in the States, and casting is in full force.
Ah, so that’s what Taurus Entertainment’s been doing for the last few months. Prepping a sequel to Knightriders. It’s one of the few George Romero movies I’ve not seen, but since I’ve heard both good and bad, I’m all right with the morons behind Creepshow 3 and Day of the Dead: Contagium sequelizing it. Keeps ‘em away from Romero’s more beloved properties as far as I’m concerned.
Damn, now this you need to check out. The little monster-loving geek in me doesn’t care how much the first movie sucked or how little we know about these new directors, the new images IGN Filmforce got from Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem are enough for a thousand geekgasms. Hit the one below, of the predalien in battle, to see ‘em all!
I know news on the remake of Escape From New York doesn’t really fall into the "horror" category, but to those of us who grew up worshiping at the alter of John Carpenter, it’s hard to differentiate between his horror and other works. It's all gold for us.
Not that anyone will be surprised, but Saw IV (review) continued the franchise's annual ownage of the box office this year with a take of $32.1 million opening weekend, easily murdering (pun intended) the competition as if Jigsaw himself had something against ‘em.
Dark Horse Comics is proud to announce the limited release of Alien vs. Predator: Sand Trap. This exciting, stand-alone story was written and illustrated exclusively for Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment for inclusion in the limited edition AVP Ultimate Showdown Collector's Set.
Friend of the site Eric Kapitan's new short film The Drainer has just shown up on YouTube, and while I can't vouch for the overall quality of his work, I sure can't knock the main character's wardrobe choice!
We recently got the news that Sid Haig has joined the cast of North Carolina native Richard Clark, Jr.’s new film, Grinder, playing a character known as Sheriff Eddie. That's certainly one way to give your project instant cred!
