A few days back we showed you the artwork for Mystery Science Theater 3000: 20th Anniversary Edition but had zero details as to what would be on it. With the arrival of Comic Con and all things geeky, that has now changed dramatically!
Hot on the heels of giving you guys a look at the official trailer for Robert Hall’s Laid to Rest, the man sent us over a much cleaner look at the film’s official poster, which you can set your eyes upon by moving them down a few inches. Be sure to visit the official Laid to Rest site to learn more about this highly anticipated stalk-n-slash!
Resident Evil: Degeneration (official site) is going to pick up the pieces the three live-action films left behind. First of all, this new story looks to be skipping the Paul Anderson BS all together and second, some familiar faces from the game are finally joining the battle against the T-Virus.
Rick Baker may be an amazing FX and make-up man, but he really won our hearts at Comic-Con this year during a round table session that included Uncle Creepy after The Wolfman panel.
Director Robert Hall did us a solid today and sent over the trailer for his new horror film Laid to Rest, starring Bobbi Sue Luther, Lena Headey and kickass violence involving Prom Night stars!
Tristan just got out of The Wolfman panel at Comic Con (lucky bastard) and came back with both good and bad news.
Under normal circumstances an Anaconda sequel made for the Sci-Fi Channel would not elicit any degree of excitement of my part but when the sequel stars David Hasselhoff and the prospect of seeing "The Hoff" fight and possibly get eaten by a huge snake looms on the horizon, yeah, consider me officially interested.
Joey M. pointed us to YouTube where a trailer for the long awaited Return to Sleepaway Camp was housed. The film will hopefully arrive on October 14th thanks to Magnolia Pictures.
Creepy just called in from Comic Con with a ton of details about the upcoming Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe video game, which as we told you yesterday will not be bloodless as we had originally feared!
Just got word from the mighty valuerocker regarding the upcoming Blu-ray release of Starship Troopers 3: Marauder, which hits on August 5th, 2008 (pre-order).
UPDATE: According to Crank scribe Mark Neveldine, Troma's Lloyd Kaufman will have a cameo in Crank 2 along with Gelnn Howard ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") and someone we thought bit the big one in the first film, Efren Ramirez. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor made probably one of the most underrated movies of 2006, Crank. It was tasteless, bloody and funny. Sadly, we all thought Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) was a goner when he fell a few thousand feet and smashed into a car.
One of the bigger announcements from yesterday's show was Robert Rodriguez’s Red Sonja. The adaptation of the popular sword and sandals (and lots of blood) will be coming our way from Millennium Films next year.
Yesterday Sony released Siren: Blood Curse in the States, and I’ve managed to play through a couple of the episodes. Due to the really rather bizarre fashion in which it’s been released, I want to give some quick impressions to help you guys make up your minds.
Not sure how we missed this one, but thankfully the keen-eyed folks at AICN did not; they snapped this shot of a teaser poster for the upcoming CG-animated movie The Goon, based on the Dark Horse series created by Eric Powell. As you can see, much like The Goon itself, it is all sorts of badass!
Just wanted to throw you guys an update; we have more images of Comic Con madness up in our official gallery for the show, so be sure you head on over and check ‘em out. Among the highlights are some candid moments with The Rock from the Race to Witch Mountain junket and some great pics of general Comic Con oddness.
