And The Role of Thor Will Be Played By...

Zachery Ty Bryan? The eldest son from "Home Improvement"? As Viking superman Thor? Seriously? Is this some sort of sick joke?

Help the People Choose Correctly!

As everyone knows, I'm DC's resident awards show junkie, and while even I usually give the People's Choice Awards a pass, I couldn't help but notice their contenders in the Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show category, all of which have been the topic of much discussion around these parts.

Stills from Mrs. Brumett's Garden

We're always happy to receive an update from indie filmmaker Patrick Rea as to what's he's been doing, and today is no exception. According to a press release Patrick recently sent over, production companies SenoReality and Free State Studios have just wrapped on a new short film titled "Mrs. Brumett’s Garden".

DVD Details for My Name is Bruce

Though the word on the street is that, essentially, My Name is Bruce is not the be-all, end-all Bruce Campbell film we had been hoping for, that doesn’t mean it won’t go well with a six pack and a joint, does it? It does not, but you’ll be able to test that theory come February 10th when Image Entertainment releases the flick in both standard and Blu-ray formats.

AFM: Halo-8 Acquires Xombie!

One deal that seemingly slipped through the cracks at this year’s AFM was Halo 8’s acquisition of James Farr’s animated Xombie series for both theatrical and DVD release. It’s all right because they just sent out official word with all the details.

Reeves Talks Cloverfield Sequel

It seems like it’s been forever since we’ve heard anything about a sequel to Cloverfield, even though the money it made during its theatrical and home video run makes it a no-brainer for the studio. Director Matt Reeves recently talked with MTV’s Movie Blog about it and gave some reasons why we’ve not seen anything yet.

Monsters Vs. Aliens Featurette!

It’s a very small bit, and unfortunately the video is not embeddable, but if you head on over to Sci Fi Wire right now you can see a very cool behind-the-scenes featurettes for Monsters Vs. Aliens, the upcoming animated monster movie from Dreamworks.

Foley Joins Cast of Suck

I’m a huge fan of “Kids in the Hall” so any time I can get a chance to report on a new movie any of those five weirdoes are in on my site, I’m all over it. THR reports that Dave Foley, the Kid who’s been in more genre fare than the others, has joined the eclectic cast of the Canadian horror/comedy Suck.

First Eight Minutes of Resident Evil: Degeneration

Ok, so let me get this out of the way immediately as it's no secret ... the Resident Evil live action films have kind of sucked. We love Milla and all, but come on! Sony Pictures is hoping to give fans exactly what they've been missing with the upcoming CGI animated feature Resident Evil: Degeneration, and I gotta say that things look promising!

AFM: The 2008 Round-up!

Horror may currently be in a slump, but the 2008 American Film Market has shown a huge light at the end of the tunnel. This year showcased a record number of horror titles and Dread Central was on hand to catch a great deal of them. Some were good, some were bad but all showed that this genre still has plenty of lifeblood left. Many exhibitors were also kind enough to show us movie promos, while others coldly showed us the door (Lesbian Vampire Killers, I’m looking at you).

Bleach & Death Note Airing on Xbox LIVE
