Do you happen to live in Arizona and think it's just not fair that most of the cool horror shit happens on one coast or another or in the Midwest, leaving you and your fellow desert-dwelling fans high and dry? Well, bitch no more, my friends -- Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith are heading your way!
Ever since I was lucky enough to watch Albert Pyun's fabulous horror/sci-fi hybrid Invasion (review), I've kept a keen eye on his subsequent projects.
Along with celebrating both our country's and the site's birthdays this weekend, comes some sad news for our readers.
Reader "girlcreeture" just dropped us a line with a heads up about a whole slew of new-to-us images from Chris Nahon’s Blood: The Last Vampire, the live-action adaptation of the badass anime of the same name, both from 24 FPS and the blog Silicon & Cigarettes.
Director James Felix McKenney is prepping the next film under his MonsterPants banner, a supernatural tale set in a traveling circus called World’s Fair. He just wrapped shooting on Satan Hates You, but just because he has untold months of post-production to worry about on that film, that’s no reason to stop working, right?
It was a strange experience arriving totally alone at the Fantasia HQ in the early afternoon of July 3rd to pick up the press pass this year. Just me, Paul McCannibal, and some tumbleweeds blowing through the city centre of Montreal.
Well hot damn! I actually beat Butane at updating the site! Happy Independence Day, everyone! Let us celebrate meat, trains and murder!
2008 feels like the year of the release date switch. Midnight Meat Train was one of those victims, but we're pretty confident the following two titles won't end up the balls of some insane studio juggler.
To paraphrase Steve Martin in The Jerk, "The new Foycast is here! The new Foycast is here!" How long has it been since the last edition of the Foycast? Too long. Wait no more. What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than by listening to Foycast 4: The Foyth of July!
Our friends at G4TV.com just scored themselves the official trailer for Steve Niles' The Lost Ones, and though it's not straight horror per se, we just had to share as a means to keep up with the genre-machine that is Steve Niles!
Oh happy day! The next re-animated feature from City of Rott (review here) creator Frank Sudol hits DVD on August 5th courtesy of Unearthed Films, and to celebrate, here's your first glimpse of the cover!
One of the strangest films in quite some time, Triloquist (review here), has hit DVD and we've got an exclusive clip for you!
Another Book of Blood is being readied for the big screen, this time scripted by one of our own. Well, not our own, but a brother in the fraternal order of internet journalists (not a real group): IGN DVD’s editor Chris Monfette.
Hey, all! We just got a look at the brand spanking new poster for Corbin Bernsen’s Dead Air, the story of a shock jock (Bill Moseley) who has to deal with an outbreak of what may or may not be zombies during his radio show. Dead Air is in post as we speak, so expect to see and hear more very soon!
All right, I wanted to wait until next week to give you guys a heads up on this, but this is too juicy to pass up. Dread Central is getting involved in a very cool project that will begin with a graphic novel called Minions of Ka and will end, we hope, on a global level. This is something that’s going to bring all fans of horror together with one of the coolest zombie stories you’ll ever hear. Needless to say, we’re very excited by it and the people we’re working with.
