So, the August bank holiday has passed for another year and that means one thing – The Film4 Frightfest in London has just finished. This year held a special meaning to the festival though, with it greeting its 10th year in existence having moved, during that time, from humble beginnings in the Prince Charles Cinema, to the grander Odeon Leicester Square and finally, for the first time this year, to the Empire Cinema (also in Leicester Square).
There's no doubt Lionsgate's DVD releases of Cujo: 25th Anniversary Edition, The Monster Squad: 20th Anniversary Edition and the original My Bloody Valentine: Special Edition were all top shelf. The only problem was that those of us digging on the high definition goodness of Blu-ray didn't get our 1080p fix. Problem solved!

When I first started working on my novel, I felt as though the horror genre hadn't utilized werewolves to anywhere approaching their full potential. That was almost three years ago (five if you count the short story I wrote in college), and I’m only now just putting the finishing touches on it. Of course, currently it seems like every other genre book out there is spinning a good old shapeshifter yarn. Guess I’ll have to go faster next time.
As a first-time home buyer, I find myself pretty squeamish when it comes to homeowner horror flicks these days (I’ve been eying my Amityville Horror Blu-ray for the past few weeks with particular disdain). You try staying positive while all the while wondering what in the hell is going to go wrong next.
Cabin Fever 2 has been threatened for so long, you have to wonder whether or not it actually exists. It seems like we’re getting closer to seeing the long-delayed sequel to the 2002 Eli Roth film, but the question today is whether or not it’s actually worth seeing.
