Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer Inject True Blood into Open House

Fans of HBO's "True Blood" are as rabid as they are because -- pardon the pun -- the show offers so very much to sink the old teeth into. Especially the relationship between Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Sookie (Anna Paquin), who incidentally are engaged to be married in real life. As if the couple can't get enough of each other already, it appears that they plan to share the screen once again in an upcoming thriller called Open House.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon -- New Image, Etc.

More stuff for the Twilighteers (like the Mouseketeers only far more emo and with thick eyebrows instead of funny ears) out there. The official The Twilight Saga: New Moon Twitter page is now open so you can follow along with all the latest developments on the sequel the rest of us can live without.

New Clip: The House of the Devil

Ti West's The House of the Devil (review here) is one of those movies that really has to be seen to be appreciated. It's a love letter to all the Seventies and Eighties Satan worshiping flicks those of us in our thirties and forties grew up loving, and holy cow does it look and feel completely authentic. Seriously, if you didn't know this was new, it could easily pass for an old classic. Need an example? How about a new clip?

Saw VI: Solve the Puzzle for New Clip

The Saw franchise has always been about playing games and solving puzzles. Now you get to be part of the action by solving a special puzzle of your own to see an exclusive new clip from the film!

UPDATED: Listen to the Twilight Saga: New Moon Soundtrack While You Can!

**UPDATE: According to the Twilight Twitter page, "Due to overwhelming demand, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON soundtrack is being released this Friday!** Probably more like ... Since all the music's been leaked anyway, we're moving up the date, but no doubt the fans are happy nonetheless.

DVD Releases: Oct. 13, 2009: The Stepfather Has an Oral Fixation to Drag Me to Hell

Another great selection of DVDs hits store shelves this week (it's obviously October!) including one of the year's most fun films, Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell; the long-awaited Richard Stanley classic Hardware; Blu-rays of The Craft, Killer Movie, and Midnight Movie; and for the Robert Pattinson completists there's The Haunted Airman, a BBC television movie that was filmed five years ago and aired in the UK in 2006.

New Clip from Chris Smith's Triangle

A new clip for director Christoper Smith's Triangle (review here), which stars Melissa George, has surfaced on EmpireOnline, and it looks like poor George is not having the kind of cruise promised by the likes of Carnival and Cunard.

District 9 DVD and Blu-ray Specs

A couple of Dread Central staffers were discussing our preliminary picks for the best films of 2009 the other day, and one that we all agreed on was Neill Blomkamp's stellar District 9 (review here).

HalloweeNight Already Stalking DVD

It's no secret that my personal experiences with the films of Mark and John Polonia have not exactly been joyous ones, but I am happy to pass along news of their newest project, HalloweeNight, that doesn't look too bad for a Halloween-themed horror flick about a killer scarecrow. I rather dig that evil Jack Skellington pumpkinhead monster on the attack.

Tormented Coming From IFC Festival Direct

Come October 21st you'll be able to dig on the latest UK horror import, Jon Wright's Tormented (review here), via IFC's Festival Direct Service. Who would have thought IFC would be such a huge supporter of thrills and chills! We're loving it!

As promised, the Twitter feed for Never Sleep Again is boiling over with some behind-the-scenes goodness straight from our interview sessions. Who has taken the hot seat thus far? Come on in to find out!

Gremlins Star Battles Bigfoot in Nightbeasts

"This was a wake-up call for those bums" is not the sort of phrase you typically hear coming out of the mouth of an Indian shaman in full ceremonial garb as he regales an audience with a cautionary tale about the awesome might and savagery of Sasquatch. But that's how the trailer for Nightbeasts begins, a new piece of Sasquatchploitation starring Zach Galligan of Gremlins.

Some New Photos from Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Along with director David Slade's regular updates on Twitter, a couple of different fansites for the Twilight films and/or their stars have provided us with an early look at the second sequel, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Bizarro Trailer for Klownboy Circus of Gore

Every so often we here at Dread Central receive word about a movie that leaves us a bit on the speechless side. Such a film is Klownboy Circus of Gore, described to us as "the craziest, most gory, unique and horrible circus film of the year!" I was not aware there were other gory, unique, and horrible circus films in the running for that title this year.
