One of the best mini-series of the past several years was HBO Latino's Epitafios (review). At the time we posted our review, it wasn't clear whether or not we'd see any further adventures of Renzo Márquez and the Policía Federal Argentina, but today we learned that yes, finally, Season 2 is on its way.
Shane Meadows isn’t a filmmaker whose name is typically associated with our beloved genre. One glance at his IMDb resume reveals as much. But those guys are the ones who can occasionally surprise you with something truly special (not to mention I’ve heard raves about his 2004 revenge drama Dead Man’s Shoes). While Meadows isn’t necessarily a "horror guy", his upcoming flick certainly sounds like something that we’ll all be curious to see.
It’s always exciting when there’s another release from Synapse Films to look forward to. Their stuff is consistently high quality, and their catalogue is loaded with hidden gems that other companies wouldn’t normally touch. And while I’m still scarred from watching Let Me Die a Woman, I continue to anticipate each and every release. So it’s with excitement that I talk about their latest disc, Sick Girl.
The official one-sheet for Marcus Dunstan's The Collector emerged today, and it's looking pretty sweet! Get ready to see how much cooler ads can be when your artwork consists of more than just the floating heads of twenty-somethings pretending to be teenagers looking pensive.
Stowe, VT - Some hauntings are benign, harmless to all who encounter them and enjoy a shiver at their brush with the supernatural. Some are helpful, welcoming even. But there are others, in which the dead sits and waits, anticipation and hope turning first to anger, then to rage and madness.
Well, now. Can't really call this one a shocker (no relation to the other Wes Craven film). Just a few days ago we told you that should the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot do well at the box office, the new Nancy, Rooney Mara, would be back for two more films. You'll never guess who'll be joining her!
The trailer for Dark Sky Films' latest acquisition Deadgirl just leaked online, but we're willing to bet it won't be up for very long!
The official trailer for Paramount Vantage's Carriers popped up online today, and we have it for you fresh, hot, and full of stuff you don't want to breathe in through any orifice.
It's amazing how now that DVD is waning in popularity, thereby giving way to Blu-ray, how many movies we've been wanting forever are making the digital jump. Next up to the plate -- The Stepfather.
Yet another tale of things that go bump in the night is on the horizon thanks to IFC Films. The Disappeared is an indie chiller out of the UK starring Harry Treadway and we've got a clip and the trailer for you!
When you do what we do for a living, you end up meeting a lot of people on the road. In a way, we become sort of like a family. Some you see only on occasion, and some you become truly close with. Lou Gentile was one of those people whom you can easily connect with. At least that's the way it was for me. It's with a heavy heart that I say that he's gone.
Ever wonder where the Creature from the Black Lagoon has been hiding out for the last 55 years? The answer: Santa Monica Blvd, from the looks of him.
Good news for fans of Nicolas Cage and his hair! Lionsgate announced today that his latest film, Dominic Sena's Season of the Witch, has been granted a March release!
I haven’t seen I Sell the Dead yet, and I’m guessing I’m in the same boat as a lot of people. If you check out Andrew's review, however, I bet your curiosity will be piqued. And that’s what writer/director Glenn McQuaid is banking on because, as we've reported previously, he’s already planning a sequel!
We can all be thankful that Fred Dekker’s 1986 classic Night of the Creeps is on its way to DVD this fall, but horror fans can’t say the same for the planned DVD artwork – which you can have some say in choosing! The only problem is finding one that isn’t a goddamn eyesore!
