First Look, Dread Central, & Metuchen, New Jersey's Forum Theatre to Host East Coast Premiere of 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams
As if hosting the West Coast premiere wasn't enough, we've decided to hop in Tim Sullivan's maniac mobile and head on over to the East Coast to make sure New Jersey gets its fair share of bloody, tasteless mayhem!
So, it's been about a year since anyone last spoke about a possible reboot of Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles. Of course that means it's time for the subject to rear its head again. Only now it's Anne herself doing the talking so odds are it'll really happen ... eventually.
Several press releases went out today featuring some huge news coming out of Canada's Fantasia Film Festival including the first batch of films that will be populating this massive three-week long event. Pull up your chair, kids! You're gonna be here for a while!
A new image coming out today for the next installment in the Resident Evil franchise, this one featuring our first look at actor Boris Kodjoe as Luther West, the leader of the survivors in LA! Can you dig it?
The greatest show about nothing since "Seinfeld" was canceled is back for its ninth installment. Tar balls may be the order of the day on the Gulf Coast where I roam, but this Foycast is more like a tar ball rolling downhill, building up momentum more and more as it goes on. My co-host Uncle Creepy started out ultra surly, but by the end he was all sunshine and rainbows after a giddy hour tripping down so-bad-it's-good movie memory lane. "Let's do the hustle!"
Updated: The Last Exorcism review. Even though the movie is about two months away from its wide release, we have the early word on whether or not Lionsgate's The Last Exorcism plays as either a devilish delight or a flaccid PG-13 snoozer!

Prolific low-budget filmmaker Creep Creepersin (the man behind the features Orgy of Blood, Vaginal Holocaust and Caged Lesbos A-Go-Go and the recently-wrapped Lake Death) got in touch with Dread to give us the lowdown on his latest production, the in-development and not-so-low-budget feature Renegade: Rebel Patriot.
It's been a while since last we heard anything regarding Neil Marshall's next movie Burst, which will be coming at us in 3D courtesy of producer Sam Raimi under his Ghost House banner. That, however, is about to change.
Lots of theme park goers will be spending the Fourth of July weekend at Universal Studios Hollywood to take part in what will no doubt be an historical afternoon as the biggest gorilla of them all takes up residence in his new stomping grounds.
In addition to Dead Cert, which he just provided us an update on, producer Jonathan Sothcott has also been working on Exposé, a remake of the 1970's film of the same name. He dropped us a line with some info on Exposé along with a still, the trailer, and the poster art.
Just the other day I was bemoaning the lack of horror hosts in the modern day genre. In a world where Peter Vincent becomes a suave magician, I have no choice but to shake my head and pity this upcoming generation of genre fans. Thankfully, we have guys like writer/director Andretti Dante to attempt to restore balance to the world.
Writer/producer Jonathan Sothcott just dropped us a line with the good news that later this week we'll be getting a look at the UK DVD artwork for director Steven Lawson's Dead Cert, and in the meantime he's given us a few new exclusive stills and an update on what we can expect to see once it's released.
One of the great things about working for Dread Central is that it forces me to be up-to-speed on everything happening within our beloved genre. With that said, however, some things have a way of catching me off guard. Like that the 1973 classic Don't Be Afraid of the Dark has been remade and that none other than Guillermo del Toro is producing it. Read on to know when you can expect it to hit a theater near you!
Personally speaking, one film I've been looking forward to forever is Brian Corder's Carnies. Headlined by two classy genre greats (Reggie Bannister and Doug Jones), it's a premise that every genre fan has got to love. And we've got some more info to help whet your appetite! C'mon in and check it out!
