30 Days of Night 2

Dread Central hit the set of Sony’s 30 Days of Night: Dark Days earlier this month - the film wraps principal photography today in Vancouver, Canada, under the watchful eye of co-scripter (with Steve Niles) and director Ben Ketai - and while there sat down with producer JR Young (among others) to discuss the flick (cast interviews to come).

This scribe (pictured right) just got in from a whirlwind visit from the set of 30 Days of Night: Dark Days, which is currently shooting Day 13 of 25 in Vancouver, Canada, and while I can’t spill much yet (although blood was spilled there gratuitously), I can give you an update on casting.

Moments after the report came in that actors Mia Kirshner, Diora Baird, Rhys Coiro, Harold Perrineau, and Monique Ganderton had joined the cast of 30 Days of Night: Dark Days (the follow-up to 2007's vamp thrill-ride 30 Days of Night), the series’ writer and producer Steve Niles called this scribe to confirm the news (we held off on running this until Sony signed off) and also to provide us details on the flick’s plot, shooting schedule, and more.

We haven't been especially excited about the 30 Days of Night DTV sequel, 30 Days of Night: Dark Days, but now that some casting news is trickling out, we admit to being at least a bit more curious. Read on for more details.

Some news about the proposed sequel to 30 Days of Night surfaced today regarding the person who will be helming the film and whether or not star Melissa George will be back. Curious? You know you are.

Reaction to the live action version of the Steve Niles graphic novel was for the most part positive, and you know what that means -- sequel time! It may even be happening sooner than you think!

More sequel news has come down via AFM, this time from STYD, confirming that a sequel to 30 Days of Night is in the works. I really hope no one is surprised by that. Word is that Steve Niles will be writing the screenplay with Ben Ketai.
