Malibu Horror Story

For the last ten years, Scott Slone has been working on his found footage film Malibu Horror Story. After constantly adapting to shifting technologies and approaches to found footage, Slone’s feature is finally coming to theaters this October! The result is a fascinating layer cake of sorts that create a time capsule into the evolution of a subgenre.

In Malibu Horror Story,

“A team of amateur paranormal investigators delve into a 10-year-old unresolved case involving the disappearance of four popular high school boys on graduation night. While exploring a sacred cave in the hills of Malibu California, the team encounters chilling paranormal occurrences. As they analyze footage from the missing teens’ camera, they make a terrifying discovery involving an ancient curse which forces them to confront their own worst fears and unravel the sinister truth behind the boys’ vanishing.”

Malibu Horror Story is a look into the future of the first-person POV horror filmmaking technique. Slone’s knowledge of the subgenre and his ability to weave together both found footage and traditional narrative create something that any horror fan will enjoy. Hybrid is the future of the subgenre and Slone is on the cutting edge.”
