The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour are Getting a Fan-Made Sequel Called The 13th Doll

One of the most formative and influential video games I have ever played was Trilobyte’s The 7th Guest. A point-and-click puzzle game set in a haunted house, it was the first game I played that utilized FMV to create the illusion of real-life living within a video game, although it certainly wasn’t the first to do so historically. So even though the Stauf Mansion was obviously CG, the illusion of people “actually” walking through the halls and attempting to solve the same puzzles that I was riddled with combined itself into a terrifying experience that was the foundation for more than a few nightmares in my youth. Of course I loved it!
The sequel, The 11th Hour, was a more mature entry and one that opted for cinematic breaks in between puzzles instead of imposing live actors on CG backgrounds. Darker, bleaker, and more sinister, The 11th Hour was the last we saw of Henry Stauf and his wicked ways…until this Halloween.
Enter The 13th Doll, an officially licensed fan-made sequel that takes place 10 years after the events of the original game. Featuring the same kind of live-action FMVs in the original (plus they got Robert Hirschboeck to reprise his role as Stauf), the game will feature over two dozen puzzles, three fully navigable environments, five different endings, and a brand new original soundtrack, as well as a hell of a lot more!
